Salon Chair for Fallout 4 mod

Since late October 2017, I was involved in the fallout 4 modding project, where the team needed an extra 3d modeller. I have created assets such as road signs and weapon props to fit the existing aesthetic.

During this time, I was glad to have the opportunity to create an original model of a saloon chair for hair dresser shops in-game.

I was given the design by Daniel Cherng, one of the concept artists from the modding group. With these images I got to work.

The model was created in Maya, where I have also created the normal partially by baking using x-normal and using Quixel to draw in shapes such as detailed buttons on metal panels.

All texture works were done with a combination fo quixel and photoshop (as seen in the textures below). However, the texture pipeline for Fallout 4 is one prior to the now-established PBR system. All in-game assets have a set of albedo, normal and specular textures. Within the specular map, only the red channel is used for specular map, while the green channel is used for gloss. Blue remains unused, which gives the final maps a peculiar colour scheme.
